I’ve been to all nine major Nazi concentration/death camps in Poland, as well as sites of former ghettos, ruined synagogues and dilapidated Jewish cemeteries.

In France, I went to Oradour-Sur-Glane and visited the Normandy beaches.

For me, it’s all about the feeling of needing to see where these events occured.

For Poland, being Jewish with Polish ancestry, I feel I need to see the remains of a decimated people.

I seek these places out - and while it does not make for a cheerful vacation, or cheerful photos to share with other people, it’s significant to me and means a lot to me to see these places.
